Ozerocdoff - an improved ZeroCD switching utility

This is the improved Option software for temporarily disabling ZeroCD and allowing the modem to be a modem. It has replaced rezero.

Download the latest version

Installing and using ozerocdoff

Download the file, open up a console and change to the directory where the package was downloaded.

Untar the file:

tar zxf udev.tar.gz

cd udev

To compile ozerocdoff you will need the compile tools (e.g. make and gcc) for your distribution and the usb.h header file which is found in the usb development package for your distribution. If you are not sure what this means then have a look at these links.

If you are running a 64 bit system or if ozercdoff crashes run this command:

sudo make clean

Then compile ozerocdoff:

sudo make

Install the ozercdeoff and the udev scripts

sudo make install

The next time that you plug in a device with ZeroCD enabled the udev scripts will run and call ozercdoff.

This will allow the modem ports to be created and they will appear as /dev/ttyHS?

If you have installed this utility and it does not seem to work check the following:

1. ozercdoff UDEV rules require a dialout group. If it does not exist create the group
2. Make sure root and your user name are in the dialout group.
