Astronomy
saturn_120106_0029_2.thumb.jpg After 30yrs or so I've picked up Astronomy again. Back then I built my own telescope using an uncut 60mm spectacle lens with a focal length of 1m and a microscopes eyepiece mounted in postal tubes. I managed to just see the rings on Saturn!

Now I can afford to spend a little more on equipment. The aperture has gone up considerably but the fun and sense of wonder is just the same. Have a look at what I have found:

  • Equipment  ( 4 items )
Here you will find information on the equipment I use and modifications I've made to "improve" things.
  • WEB CAM  ( 3 items )
Using ordinary web-cams you can regularly take fantastic pictures of planets that only a few years ago were nearly impossible with amateur equipment. Now virtually any telescope can be used to take pictures you can be proud of.

If you are handy with a soldering iron or know someone who is then the web-cam can even be modified for deep space imaging. The place to visit for more info is:
