Hello,
i have some trouble with the hso 1.2 driver for the Option iCON 225 (0af0:6971) with debian linux (lenny) and kernel 2.6.25.
The driver is working almost fine. Almost means:
i can load the driver (im using zero cd to switch from usb-mass-storage to the umts part of the stick)
i can setup the network connection, and everything is running stable for days, but ...
any attempt to disconnect the stick from my notebook fails.
just disconnecting the stick fails with a kernel trace:

havent tried suspend2disk yet 
to sum it up. as a notebook user i am addicted from the ability of my external connected devices to be _disconnectable_, but all attempts to disconnect the stick result in the need of a reboot of the system.

Here I confirm that I experience the same on my laptop.
(0af0:6971 Option 225, Ubuntu 7.10, shipped kernel 2.6.22-14)
Moreover, under some circumstances I can freeze the system by simply starting up the modem. However, I have not clarified how to reproduce. Neither have I logged any kernel trace. |

I can confirm also the random freezing when modem is started Tested with Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and kernel 2.6.24.?? and it happens maybe in 1/20 times or so. In another machine with Hardy and kernel 2.6.26.3 it doesn't happen.
However with both machines i have more nasty problem. Connection seems to work some time and then it dies (3G dongles leds start blinking) and system needs to be rebooted that it will work again. If i just reattach usb 3g dongle and reload modules etc connection script just fails (and sometimes also segfaults).
SOLVED: Reconnect problem solved itself by reinstaling bunch of stuff and connection dies when dongle switches itself. However no idea why 2G fails now because it used to work.
Also there is this non fatal error (which happens allways but it doesn't seem to preven't it from working)
