I had this with Mandriva 2008.1 and I still have it with 2009. When I try to install the rpm of hsoconnect I get a failed dependency of python(abi)[== 2.5]. I have python2.5 installed. I've searched the Web, and only found a handful of not very useful mentions. Also searched for any relevant packages on the Mandriva repositories, to no avail. What exactly is missing?
Thanks,
Chris |

Well, to answer my own question, I discovered that python2.4 would allow me to install hsoconnect - or so I thought. Although there are several hso files on my system (this is on a new Medion mini-notebook (aka MSI Wind)) they don't include a binary. The icon and app appears on the Mandriva menu, but nothing launches. I used Mandriva's installation process for installing the rpm.

I have exactly the same problem (system is SUSE 10.3). I tried to work around it by installing the files directly, but running "python -m hsoc" results in a hung window |
