Hi,
after building a new 2.6.27 kernel, I saw the following messages in dmesg:
# dmesg|grep hso
hso: drivers/net/usb/hso.c: 1.2 Option Wireless
usbcore: registered new interface driver hso
hso0: Disabled Privacy Extensions
So, I thought everythings fine, but the output of the serial console is showing this message:
hso0: unknown hardware address type 65534
minicom shows me the following information after sending ATI:
Manufacturer: Option N.V.
Model: GTM378
Revision: 2.5.13Hd (Date: Feb 18 2008, Time: 18:31:16)
any one an idea?
rgds,
B. |

Have you tried the latest 1.6 driver? It is designed for the new kernels.
Cheers,

Hi,
the hso0 device is an "ip only" device. So there is no layer 2 protocol
involved here and that's why there is also no mac address and no hardware address type defined.
In those cases the address type (aka link type) is set to ARPHRD_NONE (0xFFFE).
BTW the protocol types are defined in net/if_arp.h.
Do you have any problems using the device ? _________________ Use the source, Luke !! |
