| I would very much appreciate a HOW-To guide for installing Option GT MAX HSUPA. Anyone knows if there exists one? |

| Hi, I'm gonna try GE* stull on my SuSE11. Once it works, I'll give you sort of how-to. |

Hi All,
First things first.
Plug in the GT Max.
Type sudo lsusb -v
Look for the Option device and look for the hardware product ID.
Compare it with the list given here:
http://www.pharscape.org/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,68/page,viewtopic/t,445/
If the hardware ID is in this list you need the HSO driver and can use HSOconnect. There are several Howto's for this in the forum.
If the hardware ID is not in this list the datacard uses the Linux standard option.ko driver included with most distributions and you can use it with UMTSmon.
Cheers,
Paul |

I have the same card and problem with installation on the Ubuntu Hardy 64-bit. Is there any chance to install it on this OS? System is not reacting after insertion of the modem. Only ohci_hcd is trying to do something with the result as attached... I've tried everything (I suppose...):
- hso driver (version 1.2 and 0.7),
- option driver,
- blacklisting the ohci_hcd module (also "options ohci-hcd no_handshake" in the modprobe options file)
lsusb and lspci dont see this device.
Card is working perfect in the Win XP Prof environment on the same computer (brand new Dell D830)
-----------------------------
Card data:
GlobeTrott/er HSUPA Modem
Connector type: PCMCIA
S/N: GE2xxx
firmware: 2.8.0AHd
In the dmesg you can find as follows:

Thanks a lot in advance,
