Hi,

I got the GT MAX 3.6 (7.2 Ready) modem from polish provider iPLUS. It is model GX0201 with SNR starting with letters FT. It seems that it does not require icon_switch - it introduces itself as 0af0:6701 Option.
My OS is openSuSE 10.2 with kernel 2.6.18.8-0.5-default. I upgraded OS from Suse 10.0 last month, so don't know the new OS very well. The modem is my third one - both earlier SE and Option with letters NL (nozomi) are working OK.

The problem is that i do not have any /dev/ttyUSB devices, so cannot communicate with the modem. After inserting into the slot dmesg shows :
Code:

pccard: CardBus card inserted into slot 1

Just after inserting some new devices appears :
usbdev5.1_ep00
usbdev5.1_ep81
usbdev6.1_ep00
usbdev6.1_ep81
and few (2-3) seconds later next devices:
usbdev6.2_ep00
usbdev6.2_ep02
usbdev6.2_ep04
usbdev6.2_ep05
usbdev6.2_ep81
usbdev6.2_ep82
usbdev6.2_ep84
usbdev6.2_ep85

I do not have to blacklist usbserial (it does not load automatically) - i have to do with udev rule or manually (with vendor and product options).

What is strange for me is that i have to modprobe manually option module - it does not load automatically after inserting the modem.

I observed also the modem light - just after inserting it lights red then very shortly purple then back red and finally starts blinking purple slowly.

Can someone help me solve the problem with lacking ttyUSB* devices ?
I am not sure - but mayby there is something wrong with my kernel (too old) - so it cannot recognize the modem properly, do not load modules with right parameters and do not make right devices.

EDIT:
I have just solved it - I have just forgotten "0x" at the begin of product and vendor parameters of the usbserial.
