HI All,
Great Forum. Thanks for all the tips.
I am visiting Sweden and purchased a GlobeSurfer iCON 7.2 from the service provider Telia. The device works on a borrowed Windoze machine.
On my FC6 box, Linux version 2.6.20-1.2962 however I cannot get a connection.
The device sets up okay and I can communicate with it with comgt.
The APN I used is: 1,"IP","online.telia.se"
There are at least 2 additional elements to an APN but have not found a description to tell me what they are. Per chance a gateway address, DNS address?
When I attempt to dial using either: ATD*99# or ATD*99***1# I get either and ERROR or I simply get the ATD command echod back. No CONNECT or even an OK.
I used the Snooper application on Windoze but didn't get any thig useful to me.
I did get the DNS and GW from the Windozemachine while connected but again I am not sure where to input them. Though they would really only be useful AFTER I was connected anyway.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim |

Don't you love it when people talk to themselves?
Actually I do know to put the GW address in my pppd string. I am familiar with pppd and have used it for dial up connections, though not in several years.
I have attempted all the appropriate scripts etc on this site. I just wanted to say that in case your first thought is to point me to one of them.
Thanks again.
