Hi there,
first I wanted to say thanks to the author of the Linux Howtos - they were very informative!

I live in a fringe coverage area and want to use a beam antenna. Problem: I have no idea about where to point the antenna to, so I have to do it with trial-and-error. What's the best way to continously check the signal levels of the UMTS reception? I'm currently using a Windows notebook only but I want to "migrate" the card to a Linux (non-portable) computer. If anybody has done something like this before I'd appreciate any hints on this! TIA!

Hi Shazza,

Thanks for the kind words Smile

Open up a connection to the Fusion using Minicom for example and then use the Option proprietary command:
AT_OSQI=1
to switch on automatic reporting of signal strength changes.

Then you can direct the antenna and watch the screen at the same time. The signal will be reported only when the strength changes.
