Greetings,
I got myself a HSDPA card from 3 Ireland (a Huawei E630 if you're curious) and just got it to work under Linux, thanks to comgt (and KPPP) As usual on the first attempt, there is room for improvement, however.
The priceplan I'm on includes a 3Gb datatransfer per month, with a hefty pricetag for any Mb over that. As you can imagine, I'd like to keep an eye on my traffic volume. The Windows software that came with the card keeps track of volume per session, and saves this onto the SIM, keeping a running total. Very handy. Unfortunately, when I switch from Windows to Linux and back, all usage data is gone. I'm trying to figure out whether this is due to KPPP, comgt, or maybe simply because the windows software doesn't like the card / SIM being used by another program. Anyone has any ideas on this?
Thanks,
Roman. |

Hi Roman,
How the data is stored on the SIM will be peculiar to Huawei or 3. It is not a standard feature.
KPPP and comgt don't know about the SIM storage. If you have a specification perhaps someone could write a script for it. But it would only be relavent to the E630 of course.
