|
|
Hi folks,
I just reinstalled my debian and switched to version 4.0. Now I just don't get my card working again.
Debian now comes with the nozomi drivers and also with gcom, so I thaught that would be an easy walkthrough.
Well. modprobing nozomi works, the card is recognized as a pccard. (Card type is: 2048, Version of Card: 3).
With comgt/gcom I can enter my pin. But wvdial just doesn't get me connected.
My best effort went till
| Code: |
--> Sending ATM1L3DT*99***1#
--> Waiting for carrier.
--> Carrier detected. Waiting for prompt.
[some time]
--> Connected but carrier signal lost
|
Any ideas what might go wrong her?

Hi Paul,
here's the config:
/etc/wvdial.conf:
| Code: |
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/noz0
Baud = 460800
SetVolume = 0
Dial Command = ATDT
FlowControl = NOFLOW
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATM0
Init3 = AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet"
Phone = *99***1#
Username = foo
Password = bar
Stupid Mode = 1
Init3 = AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet"
Dial Attempts = 3
|
/etc/ppp/peers/wvdial
| Code: |
# File: /etc/ppp/peers/wvdial
# WvDial options
#
plugin passwordfd.so
#
noauth
name wvdial
defaultroute
replacedefaultroute
noipdefault
usepeerdns
novj

Anything else that might be helpful? |

Hi Christian,
The first thing I notice is that the AT commands
--> Sending ATM1L3DT*99***1#
--> Waiting for carrier.
--> Carrier detected. Waiting for prompt.
[some time]
--> Connected but carrier signal lost
are not the same as your wvdial script.
Did you try
ln /dev/noz0 /dev/modem
or use udev to set up the logical links.
Then wvdial can use /dev/modem
Cheers,
Paul |
